The SMDM Career Development Committee is planning a special no-cost networking event over lunch in Ann Arbor for trainees (Current students, postdocs and/or those planning to apply for advanced degrees) on Sunday, 15 June, from 12:15 to 1:45 PM. Plans include the opportunity for trainees and mentors to informally connect over lunch to share career development advice or discuss research interests and a “speed networking” event for trainees to meet with a mentor in small groups for a short period of time (~8 min) and then rotate to a new mentor. This is an excellent opportunity for attendees to initiate a discussion with a broad group of experts and others who have similar interests.

We encourage all attendees to reserve a box lunch on Monday and Tuesday.

Poster sessions are scheduled over an extended lunch break, so this prevents missing out on important science and networking; The campus location for the conference is several blocks away from local restaurants; and while campus food vendors are available, they will not be able to efficiently accommodate all of our attendees.

A variety of side dishes and beverages will be available to choose from on-site.

Please identify food allergies above so that we can accommodate accordingly.
