Angie Fagerlin, PhD

Angie Fagerlin, PhD, is the Associate Vice President for Faculty at University of Utah Health. Fagerlin is also the Inaugural Chair of the University of Utah Intermountain Health Department of Population Sciences at the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine. Fagerlin received her PhD in experimental psychology at Kent State University, Ohio. She is internationally renowned for her research in risk communication and shared decision-making. Her research focuses on making medical information accessible to all patients and to helping guide patients to make medical decisions that best reflect their values and goals of care. She has published over 300 articles and received competitive research funding from the NIH, NCI, NSF, the VA, PCORI, the American Heart Association, and the European Union.
